Bodyweight training is an interesting topic in the fitness world. A lot of hardcore fitness enthusiasts write it off completely, opting for a steady diet of iron instead. And at the same time, a lot of people who will never in their life build any muscle exclusively rely on bodyweight training.
March was a productive month as far as reading is concerned, even though I spent four days in L.A. networking and partying with people. There was a heavy focus on books that I would consider life improvement and challenging to conventional wisdom. I didn’t plan on the month going that way, but that’s just how things progressed.
Okay, enough bloviating on my part. I give you the March Reading Romp.
This past Monday I made a terrible mistake. It was a naïve move on my part, with absolutely no forethought. I was so pissed at myself for not realizing what the hell I had done, but once I had realized the monumental error of my fuck up, I’d already gone too far to turn around. I was in it for the long haul, there was no way in hell was I going to let myself be a quitter.
Sunday morning I woke up, spent about 20 minutes cuddling with my dogs, and then groggily climbed my way up the dark, never ending stairs from my parent’s basement. Desperately in search of coffee. I had stayed at their house over the weekend to make sure my little brother didn’t burn the house down while they were gone, and had completely forgotten just how much shorter the walk to my kitchen, and French press, is at my apartment.
What’s up with it my fellow bibliophiles? I hope your February treated you well and offered up plenty of time for you to read. I didn’t get as much reading done as I would’ve liked. Between my birthday, a trip to stay in the mountains with my family, and then a week long trip to Austin there was a lot that kept me from being able to read.
I’m sitting in a grungy hotel room somewhere in Montgomery, Alabama because my car isn’t ready yet. The carpet resembles a shade of 1970’s puke green. The couch, hard as a rock, is a mismatched hunter green. The walls are a shade of yellow similar to dried piss. The entire room feels grimy.
Gluttons of the written word, how are you? It’s been a good long while since I’ve put out a Reading Romp. A couple of months to be exact. I meant to put together a list of all the books I read in 2015, but I’m a world class procrastinator. I still need to get around to that, and I probably will later this week.
