May was a weird month. I started off by knocking out like 1 book within the first 2 1/2 – 3 weeks. Before I knew what the hell was going on, I felt super behind on my reading. Being a fantastic binge reader, I did what I do best, binge read. A lot.
It worked out well, because I managed to get 5 books in. I’m still behind on my pace for 60 books in a year, but oh well. It’s important that I managed to get 5 this month, and I can use the dog days of summer to catch up a bit.
This month I got a good amount of reading in. I bounced around a bit, some reading for development and some reading for pleasure. Regardless, I learned a ton. Whether it be how great of a writer Vonnegut truly is, how much of a pompous asshole genius Nassim Taleb is, or how dumb I am compared to some very smart strength coaches.
Without further ado, here is the April Reading Romp:
In February I didn’t get as much reading done as I really wanted to. Part of it was due to the fact that I spent a little more time studying, and I got quite a bit of writing done. Another factor was work picking up, so that naturally left me with less time to read.
Normally if that’s the case I just compensate by sleeping less. However I’ve figured out that if I don’t get enough sleep, the 4:30am wake up call is rough. Really rough. And I look like hell. I don’t like looking like hell.
Enough of my bloviating. Here are the books I got through this February.
One of my themes of 2015 is reading 60 books. Which fits perfectly into the overall theme of growth.
I don’t necessarily have a specifc list of all 60 I plan to read. Considering I have roughly 300 books on my Amazon wishlist, I shouldn’t run out of any suggestions.
This whole idea started from a long time goal to read a book a week for an entire year. Going into January I had pretty much written that off because I hadn’t ever made it happen.
About 2 weeks into January though I noticed that I was flying through some books, and said fuck it. Forget the book a week pace. I’m gonna go big. I’ll read 5 books a month for a year straight.
